Crown Court

Expert Crown Court solicitors providing strong, strategic defence for serious criminal cases.

The Crown Court deals with the most serious criminal matters. These include murder, manslaughter, rape and robbery. Cases heard in the Crown Court have been referred from Magistrates' Courts.

The Crown Court deals with:

  • ‘Indictable-only’ cases sent for trial by magistrates’ courts
  • ‘Either way’ offences. Although these cases can be heard in a magistrates’ court, they are sent to the Crown Court if the defendant chooses a jury trial
  • Defendants convicted in Magistrates’ Courts but sent to the Crown Court for sentencing due to the seriousness of the offence
  • Appeals against Magistrates’ Court decisions

With a team of leading legal advisors, including Higher Court Advocates, Kirwans’ Crown Court Department has a wealth of expertise and experience when it comes to the most serious of criminal offences.

We represent clients across the UK, advising on offences such as murder, manslaughter, rape, drugs, conspiracies, frauds and serious assaults. It’s through our robust approach that we identify and argue technical and complex areas of law which can result in prejudicial evidence being deemed inadmissible.

At Kirwans, we understand that you want the best possible representation, which is why we invest time in building relationships with senior Barristers and Kings Counsel.

Our approach is simple; we provide clients with expert advice to achieve the best possible outcome.

Our experienced team are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
